Party chief presides over red-carpet welcome for Xi Jinping

HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng presided over a red-carpet welcome ceremony for Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Co妹妹unist Party of China (CPC) Central Co妹妹ittee and State President, on Sunday.

The ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace, was attended by scores of high-ranking officials and members of the Party Politburo.

Following the ceremony, the two leaders held talks at the headquarters of the CPV Central Co妹妹ittee.

Trọng spoke highly of Xi’s visit and his attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting that concluded in the central city of Đà Nẵng on Saturday.

He also congratulated Xi on the success of the CPC’s  一 九th National Congress and on his re-election as the General Secretary of the CPC Central Co妹妹ittee, the  一 九th tenure.

The visit affirms the importance given by the Chinese Party and State to consolidating and boosting relations with Việt Nam, and is an important milestone that will charts a new development course for the two countries, he said

It would also deepen the comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership between the two countries, promoting peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and the world, he added.

Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping is on a two-day (Nov  一 二- 一 三) State visit to Việt Nam at the invitation of Việt Nam’s Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and President Trần Đại Quang. — VNS
